ST WOOLOS PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 1.10.18

Dear All,

Two pupils, Morgan Matthews and Jade Morris, recently attended a Pupil Voice conference in Cwmbran which was also attended by the Education Minister, Kirsty Williams AM. This supports our focus on pupils as decision makers in school.

Year 1/2 Children who visited Wagamama’s last week had a great time and were a credit to you!

We’ve started the new school year with a very busy few weeks but this week is calmer.

Year 1 and 2 Reading Meeting

All parents attending this meeting this afternoon received a folder with information in and, if you were unable to attend, you will be given the set of information at Parental Consultations.

We have a number of adults who volunteer to hear children read in school. If you, or any family member, would like to help with this, please let us know.

County in the Community

Our paying club for junior children run by County in the Community starts on Wednesday.

Attendance

There was a reduction in the number of pupils arriving late last week. Thank you.

Communication

Thank you if you have registered with Schoop. We have 44 parents on the list now 😊

Please only sign up to the class or the club groups.

The code number is 3690 and the app is free and suitable for Apple and Android phones.

Please sign up as soon as you can. If enough parents sign up quickly, we will be able to use the Parental Consultation booking system, which will make things much easier for you.

Parent Governors

Our current Parent Governors are:

Ms C Bradfield (Jacen’s mum Y7)

Mr A Guest (Barney’s dad)

Mrs A Khan (Iestyn’s mum)

Mr D Phillip (Declan’s dad)

Their term of office runs for four years and parents are eligible to remain even when their child leaves for high school. If you would like to ask them about anything at any time, you are welcome to leave a note at the office for them.

• Please send in food items next week. (We have a small number of places available for parents. Please let the office know if you would like a seat.)

• Tuesday 22^nd and Wednesday 23^rd October- Nursery Consultations
• Monday 29^th to Friday 2^nd November – Half term
• Monday 5^th November – INSET Day

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon
