Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope that you had a very special Sunday!
Thank you very much for supporting our Mother’s Day Sale. We raised the amazing total of £369.79 and all of the money will be spent on outside play equipment for the children.
Thank you especially to staff for donations and also to Mrs Luckett, Mrs Martin and Mrs Webber for their organization and help on behalf of the Friends of St Woolos.
The morning and afternoon Nursery classes performed such lovely Spring Concerts for Mother’s Day on Friday! Well done! 😊
Class R1 did such a lovely class assembly on Friday! Well done to them also. Thank you also to family members who came to support them. 😊
Well done to our choir who performed so well at the Celebration of Peace and Unity at The International Convention Centre last Thursday evening! 😊 As well as leaders from a number of faiths, the event was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Gwent, Brigadier Robert Aitken CBE and the High Sheriff of Gwent, Prof. Simon J Gibson CBE, DL.
The children sang four songs and we were so proud of them! We had a lovely congratulations and thank you email from the organizer.
Thank you to Ms Bowden for her work with the choir and also Mrs Webber who helped with the event organization and who also joined us on the night.
The Caffi Cymraeg planned for Wednesday has been postponed. We hope that it will take place next week and will confirm the date when we are able to. In the meantime, the Criw Cymraeg (Welsh Crew) are busy using Welsh around the school and encouraging everyone, including staff, to use more Welsh.
On Thursday we have our next Nursery Family Learning session, ‘Sharing a Book and Reading Behaviours’ either from 9.00-10.30am or from 12.30-2.00pm. Every person attending will receive a free children’s book and we will also have a free raffle for more books. We hope that you can join us.
Red Nose Day is on Friday. Children can wear casual clothes and bring a donation in for Comic Relief if they want to. (Children can still wear their own clothes, even if you’re not able to provide a donation at present. The School Council and House Captains met and decided on a free Red Nose Biscuit activity for Friday, which they are telling their classes about tomorrow.
It should be a really fun day!
Kind regards,
HL Vaughan
