Dear Parent / Carer,

We’ve made it to the end of the term …and what a fantastic term it has been; full of exciting and valuable Learning experiences for our children! This last week has been no different, we have filled every moment with memorable experiences.

Christingle
We started the week with a beautiful Chrisitingle Service at St Woolos Cathedral hosted by House and Vice Captains. All of the children from Reception to Year 6 walked up to the Cathedral where we were welcomed by Canon Andrew and his team. The whole school carols and choir performance enhanced what was a beautiful service. The children’s behaviour was exemplary. We were so proud!

Party Day
Wednesday was a day of fun and craziness! Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Barber who brought in their disco and ran ‘the best disco ever’ for the children. The confetti Cannon was a particular hit with the children – and staff – and I am sure that we will be finding confetti around school for months to come.

A big thank you to our canteen staff and Midday Supervisors for a lovely Christmas Lunch. The children had Christmas Crackers to pull that they had all made during Elf Day.

Father Christmas visited during the afternoon and delivered presents to all of the children. Many thanks to all staff and Governors who donated money to enable us to do this.

Concert
I think everyone will agree that yesterday’s concerts were a triumph! As a staff there is nothing we love more than to work on a whole school project, and our Nativity 2024 was certainly that. I really welcomed some of the conversations that I had with parents and children as we prepared for it. Our priority is always to work with our families on the things that are important to us all. Your children were amazing! Their behavior and performances were reflective of all of the hard work that went into the concerts and were a credit to you as families and parents. Thank you for supporting us with this.

A big well done!
As a St Woolos staff and family, we have raised over £3,000 for our children this term. Your support for our School Fayre, Movie Night and Concerts have all contributed to this impressive amount. A portion of that money went on our Pantomime trip which then enabled us to reduce the Pantomime costs for our families so that everyone could attend. The rest of the money will be spent on the children and they will have input on what it will go on. We are so grateful for your support with these events.

Parent Governors
We are very pleased to announce that we have two new Parent Governors to represent you on our Governing Body alongside Mrs Takmima Begum. Ms Meloy, our Chair of Governors, conducted the ‘count’ on Wednesday morning and we would like to congratulate Catherine Aigbe and Alex Sanders. Many thanks to our other parents who put themselves forward for this role and for those who took the time to vote.

Thank You
Mrs Davies and I would like to thank you for all of your kindness and support this term and to wish you a very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.

Nadolig llawen a blwyddyn Newydd dda!
