Clubs start this week. Children were told on Friday which clubs they are able to attend. If you are unsure, please check with the teacher running the club, or in the office.
This week we have a visit from ADA Recycling, some children will have had a session today, and others will have a session tomorrow. The children always enjoy these visits.
On Wednesday, Emma Gittins from St Woolos Cathedral is visiting to talk to the Junior children about the Cathedral Choir. She will also audition any children who are interested in joining. If you child has shown an interest, they may bring home a letter about it.
Friday is Jeans for Genes Day, when the children can wear casual clothes for a 50p donation. The money raised goes to a charity which researches genetic diseases and disorders. Also the 5/6 classes have Science workshops on Friday
Diary Dates
There is already one change to the Diary Dates sheet. The date of the potions workshop for 3/4J, 3/4M and 4/5B is now Monday 25th September. This workshop is linked to their Science work and their topic about life in medieval times.
Remember, if you would like your child to attend Breakfast Club, please ask for a registration form. The club runs in school, Monday to Friday, starting at 7.45 and it is free. Your child will need to be in school before 8.15 in order to have a breakfast. You do not have to bring your child every day. You can choose a regular day or just drop in, once you have completed a form. Three days each week there is a play leader who organises activities in the hall or outside after breakfast.
We are already experiencing a high level of lost property. We have several coats, cardigans and jumpers which have accumulated on the stage. Please make sure that all of your child’s clothes are labelled, as this makes it much easier to reunite the clothes with their owner. I understand how frustrating it is when clothing goes missing, but if everything is labelled, it is more likely that we can find it, or that other parents notice if their child takes home the wrong jumper or coat.
Bonus Ball
There is a rollover this week.
If you would like a chance to win, please ask at the office. You can choose a number and it costs £1 per week. Funds raised are split, half as a prize and half to School Fund, and every penny helps!
Birthday Cake
Teaching time is very tight and we are unable to cut and give out birthday cake. If you would like to bring a treat to celebrate your child’s birthday, please bring in wrapped sweets or individual cakes which we can give out at the end of the day.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs S Couch
Acting Headteacher
