Dear Parent/Carer,

Well done to Key Stage2 classes for their Enterprise Sale. Sadly I couldn’t be back at school for it but I heard a lot about the event and I have seen lovely samples of items the children made. They were very inventive! Thank you also, as always, for supporting this event so well and also for supporting other children in different classes.
Each class is now deciding how they will spend their profit.

This afternoon, Year 1 and 2 pupils visited the Post Office to post letters to Father Christmas as part of their awareness of the wider world.

Tomorrow we have our Tombola Casual Day when children can wear their own clothes in return for bringing in an item for the Tombola such as toiletries (eg shower gel, bubble bath, soap etc), chocolate (any bars or packets are welcome) or tinned or packet foods. This year we’re trying to ensure that we have a few more toiletries and few fewer tins so that we can avoid having a lot of tins left over.

Raffle tickets are on sale every breaktime this week and they cost 50p a strip. We already have some lovely raffle prizes. Thank you to parents and staff who have already donated items. Thank you also to The Friends of St Woolos who have been hard at work contacting local businesses and delivering letters asking for prizes. Two of our regular prizes are food hampers made up of items donated by staff,

Our Wednesday assembly will be taken by Canon Mark Diamond from St Woolos Cathedral. This is his first visit to an assembly for us and we hope that we will see him again in the new year.

On Wednesday, Year 3 pupils have been invited to attend the ‘Why Christmas’ event at Nant Coch Church. This is a regular event and children will do a set of craft and dressing up activities and also have refreshments. Mrs Kemp and Mrs Peterson, who run the Discovery Club, will be amongst those who are working with the children on Wednesday.
The Flu Immunisation programme is running on Friday. All consent forms should now have been returned. By giving your consent to immunisation, you are not only helping your child to be protected, but you also helping to slow down the spread of influenza to the more vulnerable elderly population because fewer children will catch the virus in the first place to pass it on.

Friday is a special day!

On Friday morning, the morning and afternoon Nursery classes are visiting Bellevue Park to meet Father Christmas! There is no afternoon Nursery on Friday.

The Christmas Fayre takes place in the afternoon.

This is always a great event and you support us so well with this. It starts at 3.45pm and, in order to ensure that all staff can get to the stalls once they have dismissed their class, please queue up at the front of the school once you have collected your child. Mr Brock, our caretaker, will be at the front gate and we will open the door once everyone is ready.

To make it a little easier for you, children in Classes 3/4M, 3/4J and 4/5B will be dismissed through the side staircase door near the mural on the wall at hometime.
Any child not collected at the end of the day will be taken to the Nursery.

Please send in any donations of food such as cakes, samosa or pakoras, on Friday morning.

The raffle will be drawn at 5.00pm.

Christmas Concerts

I know that you want your child to be able to perform in their concert and enjoy themselves without being interrupted or disturbed by babies crying so please do not bring any baby or toddler under Nursery age to any of the concerts, including the Nursery one.

If you have no family or friends at all to baby sit, in certain circumstances, you will be able to attend a dress rehearsal where it will be easy for you to take your baby out if they are crying. Please contact Mrs Davies/ Mrs Agland, Miss Spray, Mrs Couch or myself if that is the case.
