Dear Parent/Carer,
Children in Years 5 and 6 took part today in Nigerian Drama workshops based on African tales, and they will be continuing for a second day tomorrow. They are funded through the Arts Council of Wales ‘Have a Go’ programme.

On Thursday the School and Nursery are closed for an INSET Day.

On Friday, children in Y3/4 classes are going to Rest Bay, in Porthcawl. Hopefully the weather will be dry and sunny at the end of the week!

Since there is no school on Thursday, if you need a food bag, the Pantry will be open this week on Friday
afternoon, from 3.15-3.45pm
.

INSET Days
As well as this Thursday, our final INSET Day of the year will be on Monday 24th June. The School and Nursery will be closed on that day.

Additional dates next week are:

  • Tues 7th May – Friends of St Woolos Coffee Morning/Afternoon from 9.00-10.00am and 2.45-3.30pm. (Free refreshments)
Please join us if you’re able to, to find out about some of the ways that we raise money, make any suggestions or offer any help if you’re free at any time. Please join us also, if you’d like to volunteer for any help in school, either on a regular basis or of you have the occasional day that you could join us to help. You don’t need any experience of working with children – being a parent is perfect.
We’ll also talk about some of our ideas for our Anniversary and will be looking for any suggestions or any help that you would be able to give. 😊
If you’re unable to attend, but would like to help us in any capacity, please leave a message with the office.
  • Fri 10th May – ‘Terrible Twos to Teens’ – This is a parent course which will run from 9.15-10.45am and which will give you lots of ideas for managing any issues that you may face and will also help you to have ideas to cope with situations when children get older and are teenagers. It will be run by Mrs Jarrett and Mrs Jones (from 1/2J). Even if you don’t have any particular worries, it would be helpful to know about some of the challenges when children grow up a bit and hopefully you can switch off a bit by attending and share ideas with other parents….. and have a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. 😊

Website Photos
The photos that had been planned for last week, as part of our website upgrade, have been postponed until later this half term.

Parent Governor Role
We received two nominations for the two vacant posts of Parent Governor and I’m really pleased to let you know that Takima Begum (mother of Manha) and Eleanor Coles (mother of Chloe and Cole) have been appointed. Thank you to them both for offering to stand for this role. They join Aisha Ahmed (mother of Haris and Minnah) as your representatives on the Governing Body and will always feedback about any suggestions or general queries.

Very kind regards,
