Dear Parent/Carer,
On Friday, Class 1/2S showed their imovie and we enjoyed watching it. Nursery will be showing theirs on Friday and morning Nursery children are joining us for our assembly.
The final amount for the Christmas Fayre is £1275.57 gross! Attached to this newsletter is a list of local businesses who sponsored us and we are very grateful to them for their support.
The Reception and Year 1/2 Concerts took place last week and they were great!
Thank you for respecting the request about babies and toddlers.
There was no Taiko for Year 3 this week. The final one is next week.
The last Newport Football session is on Tuesday morning for Class 4/5B.
Staff from Age Cymru joined us last Wednesday to award £5.00 giftcards for the winners of the Age Cymru draw and these were presented by Mrs Powell and Mrs Jones.
The Nursery Concerts are on Wednesday at either 10.30am or 2.00pm. Entry to these concerts is by ticket only so that seats can be allocated fairly. We have decided to go back to our original tradition of separate concerts so that the children performing have the best chance of a quiet audience and can be seen well.
Please remember that no babies or toddlers are permitted.
Any parents wishing to record using a camera or an ipad will be expected to stand at the back or in a designated side area so that the view for people sitting behind them isn’t spoiled.
The Junior Concerts are on Thursday and Friday at 2.00pm and we are repeating them over two days. Those parents who have been with the school for a long time will remember that many years ago this is what we used to do – even using the middle hall for the whole Juniors.
Admission is by ticket only and if you have not ordered a ticket and wish to attend, you will need to see Mrs Couch as soon as possible because spare tickets will be allocated shortly.
No tickets can be given for babies or toddlers.
Junior children will be expected to stay in school until the end of the day when they are performing so that they can return to their own class once they are changed after the performance.
Please see my earlier note about ipads.
Please do not go to the front of the hall or into the aisle to take photos or film because it blocks parents’ views, blocks movement of pupils and distracts your child.
Your children are my priority and that is why I am making these requests so that they are not disturbed or distracted and can be heard fairly by everyone.
We will be joined at our Friday assembly by Councillor Debbie Wilcox, who is the Cabinet Member for Education.
Our Reception/ Year 1 Numeracy Family Learning course continues on Thursday at 9.00am.
