Dear Parent or Carer,
Our fundraising total for LATCH from our recent Crazy Day, has now reached £322.00. Thank you!
It was great to have so many parents or carers join us for our Family Maths Play session last Thursday. The hall and Stiwdio were very busy!
It was lovely also to see families in our Library Drop-In after school today. 😊
Mrs Couch will be here every Monday from 3.15-4.00 for our family library sessions and you are welcome to bring your child to pick a book. All children will need to bring their library cards with them.

This Week
On Wednesday Year 6 pupils are visiting The John Frost School for a transition activity.
Also on Wednesday, Mrs Couch will be running a Family Learning session for parents from Nursery to Year 2 about Fun Holiday Maths Activities to do at Home, which will help your child to practise things they have learned, ready for September.
On Thursday morning, Year 5 pupils will be visited by staff from The John Frost School to help them prepare their songs for the Cluster Year 5 Transition Concert.
Also on Thursday, Bryn Bees owners are visiting children in Years 3 and 4 as part of the year group’s Bee Friendly project.
Miss Wall’s Netball Club will take place this Thursday and the Y3/4 Book Club is running this week.
There is an after school Manor Park catch up meeting at 3.30pm for any parents or carers who couldn’t make the previous meetings.
At 5.00pm on the same evening, Ms Bowden is holding a meeting for parents and carers so that we can find out your suggestions about the new curriculum and your thoughts on the topics we have done this year. This ‘Curriculum Find out and Have Your Say’ meeting will last for between 45-60 minutes, depending on the numbers attending.
There is no Class Assembly this Friday, but, instead, Year 2 classes will do an Assembly on Friday 23rd June at 9.15am.

Traffic
It’s very important that we all work together to keep every child safe at the front and rear of the school.
Please respect the 20mph speed limit and also, if you’re picking up in North Street, either park a safe distance away, or drive through Baneswell, come along Jones Street and down North Street so that we can keep a steady flow of traffic going in the same direction.
if you already do this to help keep everyone safe, thank you

PE Kit
Children are doing extra PE sessions practising for Sports Days which are on:
Monday 26th June – Y3-Y6 9.30-12.30pm
Tuesday 27th June – Rec-Y2 9.30-12.30pm

Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day.
PE is a very important part of the curriculum so please help your child with this.
We have some new and nearly new kit that we can recycle, so if you need help with spare items of kit, please ask your child’s class teacher.

Sunscreen
The weather is forecast to be very hot this week. Please ensure that you put sunscreen on your child before sending them to school and, if possible, provide them with a hat for shade at breaktimes. All children are able to being in water to keep with them and refill, but please ensure that your child’s name is on the bottle.
There is shelter on the lower yard but if the temperature becomes excessively hot, we will always ensure that children don’t spend all their time in the direct sun at lunchtime.

Friends of St Woolos
All parents and carers are automatically members of the Friends of St Woolos and anyone interested in helping in any way with our Summer Fayre on Friday 7th July, is welcome to join us at a meeting in school this Friday at 2.30pm.
We’re looking for ideas for stalls, offer to help beforehand or on the day, and also anyone able to ask local businesses in town, or that you know of, for raffle prizes. If you’d like to find our more, please join us at the meeting. If you’re unable to attend, but would like to help in some way, please let your child’s class teacher know.

Very kind regards,
H L Vaughan
