Dear Parent/Carer,
We are very grateful to Waterstones for helping us so much with our recent visits! Huge thanks also to all the parents who have helped. We really appreciate it!
The World of Work in Wales Fortnight has been great so far! We’ve had such interesting visits and were lucky enough to have some extra people visit us. On Wednesday, pupils in Year 6 are setting off for their three day visit to Abernant Adventure Centre, Manor Park, in Powys. We are going there rather than Talybont this year because of increased numbers. The centre is amazing and children will have a great time I know. They will be accompanied by Miss Murphy, Mrs Jarrett and Mrs Fowler.
Wednesday is our Foundation Phase Yellow Day. Children are invited to wear something yellow and bring in a small donation for Marie Curie Cancer Care. We will not be having the Daffodil Sale this year.
Also, on Wednesday, children in the Reception classes are visiting Newport Library. Thank you again to parents who are helping with this visit.
Nursery Mother’s Day Concerts are at 10.00am and 2.00pm on Wednesday and I hope that you will be able to join us for this. Refreshments will be available afterwards.
Class 3P have their Class Assembly on Friday and it starts at 9.15am. Everyone is welcome to join us for this. If you’d like to come in once the school doors are open, to wait, that will be fine.
Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day making sessions with Mrs Couch and Mrs Parkinson are continuing well. For a price of either £2.00 or £2.50 (to include a gift bag), children can put their name down for a special craft activity to make a present for Mother’s Day on Sunday 31st March. Our Mother’s Day Sale takes place every day at breaktime this week in the Library and gifts are available 50p, £1.00 and £1.50.
Thank you if you have sent in small toiletries for gifts. We are still accepting any if you have some spare.
Tickets for our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea on Friday 29th March are selling well. The second sitting, from 2.30-3.15pm is sold out and our first sitting from 1.30-2.15pm has some spaces left at the moment. All tickets are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Some musical accompaniment will be provided by the choir.
Mrs Begum (Mum of Isam Syed-Kabir Cl 4J), Mrs Mirza (Mum of Azan Cl 1H) and Ms Pochkua, (Mum of Nick Tegelbeckers in Cl 1) have volunteered to help on Friday with this event. If you are able to join them either in the morning or the afternoon, or would be able to provide a half a dozen, or a dozen (12) cakes, please let us know in the office.
If any parents work for any organisations who would do match funding for any event, please let us know also. Any help is welcome, even if you’d like to bring a friend with you to help. We hope to raise more money towards another Chromebook by running this event.
