Dear All,

Well done to everyone for their contribution to last week’s St David’s Day Eisteddfod! It was a lovely morning. The love spoons made were very detailed and there was an amazing range of approaches towards this design.

Congratulations to our Bard, Daniel Margetts, who won the Year Six Writing competition.

Well done to Mischa Butcher, Leo Dunnion and Dylan Jennings who won the World Book Day draw. Pictures of both of these days’ events can be found on our Twitter page @StWoolosPrimary.

Our Foundation Phase Daffodil Day in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Research took place this afternoon. Thank  you for suporting this.

The Milittlepad Scratch coding workshop runs this afternoon with class 4/5B.

On Tuesday morning a group of teachers from Bangaldesh, who have been sponsored by the Bangladeshi government to do a period of study at the University of South Wales, are visiting the school to see good practice.

Parental Consultations take place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3.45pm.

In Mrs Parry’s class only, the Wednesday session will not take place but will, instead run on Thursday.

A children’s DVD will be running in the Library if you have no babysitter. Please collect your child promptly once you have had all of your appointments.

Please remember that each appointment is planned on a ten minute limit. If you have any issues which need greater discussion, an additional appointment will need to be made with your child’s class teacher so that other parents do not have to wait beyond their allocated time.

All parents have been allocated appointment times so we look forward to seeing every parent.

Year Six pupils will accompany their parent to this Spring Consultation.

Mrs Couch will be available in the middle hall to talk about any aspect of the National Tests which begin in May. She will also have past papers available for you to see.

There are no after-school clubs on Tuesday or Wednesday because of Parental Consultations. (This includes the football Club.)

On Wednesday, Years Five and Six are taking part in a Netball Tournament at Newport Centre.

There is no GEMS Reading Café is on Wednesday.

Class 1/2DJ have their Class assembly on Friday morning and it starts at 9.15am.  You  are welcome to attend for this.

Fundraising

If you are interested in helping with fundraising in any way, please join us for a meeting of The Friends of St Woolos on Friday 15th March at 2.45pm

This is a small but busy group of parents and staff who either help to arrange events or help with activities on the day. If you would like to help in any way, but are unable to join us on Thursday, please complete your details on the form below. The next event taking place will be a Mother’s Day Sale during the week beginning Monday 20th March.
