Dear Parent/Carer,

Cup Cake Sale

Thank you for supporting The Alzheimer’s Society with our Cup Cake Sale on Thursday! We raised £75.00.

Cricket

Well done to girls taking part in the Cricket Festival! They were, again, a credit to you. They were accompanied by Mrs Luckett and Mrs Gray, both of whom said that wanted to make all of the girls Ladies of the Match!

The last Cricket Workshop run by Newport Cricket Club, takes place this Wednesday.

Healthy Week

This week is Healthy Week and our focus is Sun Safety and Mental Health.

Y5 & Y6 Visit to The University of South Wales

Today Y5 and 6 have a really exciting visit to The University of South Wales, at Treforest, to take part in a Science Day, as part of the big project we have been doing to increase children’s understanding of, and interest in, Science. They will get to meet a trainee astronaut who has recently returned from NASA so it should be a great day!

Transition Visit to The John Frost School

Year 5 pupils have their transition visit to The John Frost School on Wednesday and will then be taking part in a Cluster Transition Concert at 4.00pm. This will be a lovely opportunity for everyone to find out about all the opportunities there are for them at The John Frost School.

I attended the Sports’ Awards Evening last Wednesday and it was lovely to see our past pupils Emily Cox, Amy Dao and John Marcus Abraham receive awards! It was great also to hear Team Wales Cyclist and ex The John Frost School pupil, Ellie Coster,  speak so inspiringly about her career so far and her time as a pupil there.

Children have coloured bands to run in as well, so their usual PE T-shirt will be fine, but if you wish, your child may wear house colours.

Children will also need to bring a water bottle with them, labelled with their name. Please ensure also that you have applied sunscreen in the morning.
