Dear Parent/Carer,

Wishing everyone a very happy new year! I hope that you had a lovely break.

It’s great to see everyone back with us and the children settled so well. It’s lovely also to see so many children in smart school uniform. They look really great.

This week has started well and our usual visits from Newport Live, Dragon Rugby and County in the Community are starring this week.

Clubs

All clubs are starting back this week, with the exception of a new Y1/2 Exercise Club, running every other Thursday after school and led by Miss Pretty. This club will be starting next week, once letters have been returned.

The dates for this Exercise Club are:

Thursday 18.1.24
1.2.24
22.2.24
Half Term

Clubs always start in the first week back in the Spring and Summer Terms, will run until the end of term (unlike at Christmas, where they finish a week early).

All children attending new clubs this term have been notified.

Stow Hill Pantry

This will reopen again on Wednesday 18th January.

As a result of the issues in the last session, it is necessary for us to revise the process and the Pantry will move to a revised registration and individual emergency bag collection system. We will let you more about this next week, once we have reorganized and restocked.

All of our stock was used up in the last week of term, which would have given you sufficient extra to cover the holidays but if you find yourself in crisis, please let us know and we will be able to help you.

Behaviour For Learning

Last term parents were asked to complete an online Behaviour For Learning survey. Thank you very much if you completed it. As part of the review of our Behaviour For Learning Policy, we have also revised our Golden Rules, which we’d like your opinion on. If you’re able to come to a final Behaviour meeting to see the results of the survey and to give us your thoughts on the revised process, that would be great. This review will take place on Friday 12th January at 2.30. We’ll have refreshments ready, so I hope that you can join us. Please make every effort to attend if you can, because your opinions are vital for this.

Information about the survey and the Golden Rules, will be shared with you next week following the meeting.

Dates

Next week’s Diary Dates sheet will contain dates of activities, visits and Family Learning sessions.

Class Topic Letters will go out on Monday 15th January.

Thank you.

Wishing you all the best for the start of the year! I think that we’re going to have a great term!

Very kind regards,

H L Vaughan
