Dear Parent/Carer,
Children in Year 6 have just finished their Swimming Course and we are really proud of their achievements and progress during the course. Well done to them and thank you to Miss Watkins and staff who accompanied the children on their daily visits to Newport International Sports Village.

Activities this week remain the same, with the addition of Rugby today for Class 5/6AP. with Janice Chappell from Gwent Dragons.

Tomorrow, we have our Bring a Tin Casual Day for our Harvest Festival which takes place on Wednesday. In return for bring in either tinned or packet foods, or fresh vegetables, children may wear jeans or their choice of casual clothes. (Please send fresh items in on Wednesday.)
On Wednesday, each class will perform a Harvest song or poem and these will all be shared with each class over the course of the week.

All food donated will go to Raven House Food Bank, which is based at Stow Park Church, and which feeds those who are hungry or struggling.

African Drumming for year 1 and 2 classes, with Upbeat Music and Arts, is on Thursday.

County in the Community is also on Thursday with Y5/6 classes.

The school photographer will be in on Friday. Colorfoto will be taking individual photos and also sibling photos. You will be given a small proof copy of each photo and will then be able to make up your mind about any orders. There is no obligation to buy any of these though.

Parental Consultations
I’m sorry that there was a delay in letting you know about Parental Consultations next week, but we
have now set up a new booking system which will make things easier for you, especially if you are able
to pick messages up on Schoop.

Tomorrow morning you will be sent a link for you to book an appointment time on either Tuesday 12th or Wednesday 13th October, after school. You will also be able to book separately for each child’s teacher.
This information will also go out on paper for any remaining parents not yet on Schoop. The quicker you book, the more likely you are to get your choice of appointment.

These telephone consultations were very helpful last year and we had a great response from parents. I hope that you will be able to sign up for these.

Nursery Consultations will be a week later on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th October and will take the same format. Again these will be so helpful for you.

We are so pleased with the amazing way that Nursery and Reception pupils have settled in, and we are also so happy with the way that older children are settling so well into their work! The year has started so well and it will be lovely to find out lots of good news about your child.

Very kind regards,
HL Vaughan
